Vek Lewis es autor del libro Crossing Sex and Gender in Latin America (New York: Palgrave, 2010) y ha publicado artículos en diversas revistas académicas desde Sexualities (UK) hasta PORTAL Journal of Multidisciplinary International Studies. Otras publicaciones suyas han aparecido o próximamente saldrán en varios libros, incluyendo dos ensayos clave: ‘When “Macho” Bodies Fail: Spectacles of Corporeality and the Homosocial/sexual in Mexican Cinema’ in Mysterious Skin: Male Bodies in Contemporary Cinema, ed. Santiago Fouz-Hernández, I.B. Tauris, (2009) y ‘Forging “Moral Geographies”: Law, Sexual Minorities and Internal Tensions in Northern Mexico Border Towns’ en Trystan Cotten (ed). Transgender Migrations: Bodies, Borders and the (Geo)Politics of Gender Crossing (Routledge, 2011). Vek Lewis actualmente desempeña el papel de Director del Departamento de Estudios Españoles y Latinoamericanos de la Universidad de Sydney y dicta clases en Metodología y Teoría Críticas y en Latino Studies, entre otras materias. Entre sus áreas de interés están los estudios de migración interna e internacional en México y Australia, estudios críticos de la raza, sexualidad y bioética.

Vek Lewis is author of the book Crossing Sex and Gender in Latin America (New York: Palgrave, 2010) and has published in several academic journals ranging from Sexualities (UK) to PORTAL Journal of Multidisciplinary International Studies. Other publications include book chapters already out or soon to appear: ‘When “Macho” Bodies Fail: Spectacles of Corporeality and the Homosocial/sexual in Mexican Cinema’ in Mysterious Skin: Male Bodies in Contemporary Cinema, ed. Santiago Fouz-Hernández, I.B. Tauris, (2009) and ‘Forging “Moral Geographies”: Law, Sexual Minorities and Internal Tensions in Northern Mexico Border Towns’ in Trystan Cotten (ed). Transgender Migrations: Bodies, Borders and the (Geo)Politics of Gender Crossing (Routledge, 2011). Vek Lewis is the Chair of the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies of the University of Sydney, where he teaches in Critical Theories and Methodologies and in Latino/a Studies, among other things. Among his areas of interest are: internal and international migration in Mexico and Australia, critical race studies, sexuality and bioethics.
