04/18/15: 1st International Day of Transgender Survivors

Hello All!

On behalf of the LGBT Center, CHIRLA, CARECEN, and BIENESTAR, we are excited to announce an amazing upcoming event focused on healing, empowerment, community, and celebration.

What:   The First International Day of Transgender Survivors

When:  April 18th, 1 – 6pm

Where:   Program at CARACEN (2845 W 7th St), procession to MacArthur Park, followed by music and (free) food in the park

Tabling:  We will have a resource fair. Any organizations that provide services to trans survivors/victims (which is most of us) are welcome to have a table at the event.  This may include: immigration, health and wellness, housing assistance, or other support. Tabling hours will be 12:30 set up – 3:30pm take down.  Please email cargyros@lalgbtcenter.org by April 3 to secure a tabling spot. It is preferred that those tabling speak Spanish and provide info in Spanish.

March: We will be marching from CARECEN to MacArthur Park at 4pm and we need organizations and allies to join us! We march against violence and celebrating life! If your organization can join the march, please let us know via email how many folks can join. If you can table at the resource fair AND march, that would be great!

The primary audience for the event is the trans Latin@ community and family and friends.  Therefore the event will be primarily in Spanish.  For those who don’t speak Spanish well, you are welcome!  A smile is universal 🙂
